What We Wear Wednesdays: Polo Fashion
What used to be a key feature of golfers and dads made a stylish comeback in 2020 and continues to in 2021. Polo shirts and dresses are often used as school uniforms due to their semi-formal, collared look. I used to think that polo shirts were so ugly when I was forced to wear them with khaki pants in middle school.
Now, a variety of creative patterns and styles transcend the sporty, prim-and-proper aura of polo fashion. This does not mean that you have to rummage for a patterned, kitsch polo shirt with lace collars to join the trend. What makes this polo trend exciting is that with some thoughtful styling, layering, or accessorizing, you can turn your uncle’s salmon polo shirt into a fashion statement. We are finally appreciating the beauty of a solid-colored polo shirt and everything beyond that.

Model Kelly Ha (@kellyyy.ha) created a beautiful contrast between the soft hues of the blue collared shirt and white knitted vest and the striped dress pants and black loafers. The clash of femininity in the top half and the masculinity in the bottom half creates an androgynous style that is both elegant and chic.
