I know this may be difficult to hear, so take a deep breath, relax, open your mind and hear me out on this. Leggings are not pants.
I repeat, they are NOT pants. Yes, they have two holes for your legs, yes they technically cover your body, but no, they cannot and should not be considered pants. Leggings are an undergarment.
They were invented to go under things, like a long shirt, a dress, or shorts, to help keep your legs warm. But alas, that is not the case anymore. Today, leggings are usually worn fully exposed, often with a short top, so that every line and curve of one’s legs can easily be detected and quite frankly, are impossible to ignore.
I know what you’re thinking, but Giselle, they’re soooo comfortable, jeans are too tight and unforgiving. How am I supposed to get my feast on at Bplate or Northern Lights wearing jeans? I get it, this is a valid point. I, too, would rather avoid the embarrassing unbuttoning of my jeans to make room for my food baby, but with the new pants trends and styles, jeans does not have to be your only option.
Here are 5 non-legging pants that are both comfortable and fashion-forward:
