SAINT LAURENT FALL 2016
As you may have heard via social media or elsewhere, Saint Laurent just held their Fall 2016 menswear and part of their women’s ready-to-wear fashion show in Los Angeles on February 10. In case you missed the Snapchat or Instagram coverage, let me give you a little taste of what social media showed me (maybe one day I’ll be able to see the clothes in person *sigh*): there was an evident rock n' roll vibe that coursed throughout the show with accents of western and victorian-inspired pieces. Tight pants, leather jackets, and belted dresses as well as a host of richly colored velvets, sequins, and cheetah print adorned the bodies of the disheveled hair, smokey eyed models.
I’m not going to lie, I am obsessed with these looks. The bed-head hair mixed with layers of high quality statement pieces provided a spot-on balance between polished high fashion and true rocker grunge. The only problem is I can’t decide whether I like the men’s or women’s looks more! Nevertheless, everything that came down the runway was exquisite. I think it’s equally as cool that the designers and artists behind the show decided to hold it at the Palladium in Los Angeles, just a night before the start of New York Fashion Week, proving that they are perfectly fine with doing what ever the f**k they want: how rock n’ roll is that?
The star-studded audience included iconic rockers such as Joan Jett and Lenny Kravitz, as well as Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, Lily Collins, and Jessica Alba, just to name a few. Below are some snapshots of the Saint Laurent greatness on the runway and on the guests. Please enjoy, I know I did.
